4. Birthplace: I adopted him from a shelter on 11/14 as a belated birthday present to myself
5. Astro Sign: unknown but I would guess Gemini or Sag because he’s very friendly and won’t stop talkin’
6. Likes: food, people, cuddling, paper bags, nature watching, scratching upholstery, tin foil balls, plastic bottle caps, plopping onto laps and attaching to hips, sunshine, more food, affection, did I say food?
7. Dislikes: squirrels, birds, insects, cold, water, alone time, the word Nooo, boundaries
8. Greatest Achievement Thus Far/Special Skills: constant verbalizations – unintelligible to humans but quite melodious, resilience in the face of multiple adoptive placements, infinite unconditional love

Sadly, Dexter passed away July 12th, 2015. He will be greatly missed.

Birthplace (how he came into you life: Petco, I saw him and he, saw me.
 Astro Sign: Aquarius
Likes: To make up tales of his adventures swimming in the Looking Glass Forest. Sometimes he encounters a fierce blue rival in the Mirror Land Lake, he ferociously swims his water and scares away this foe.
Dislikes: Being away from people or to far from home in the colored glass jungle. He also dislikes his namesake. Arizona afternoon sun.
Special Skills: Well this amazing fish has the ability to contact me in my dreams. (He is a Telepath) I was napping one afternoon when I dreamt of Lil D and something to do with the water, as I was in the water as well, when I awoke I went to his home to discover he was in the sun and the water was rather hot.
Greatest Achievement Thus Far: His greatest achievement occurred recently when I was changing his water, he missed the net and was in the sink. I freaked and before I knew it, Lil D jumped into the net which had been dropped into the sink. He is really a very good fishy and he loves me.

Likes: Sitting by the window stalking the birds and squirrels. Hunting mice in the basement. Cuddling with my parents. Chasing my toys around and playing fetch. Wellness Healthy Indulgences Turkey and Duck recipe and turkey deli slices. Eating mommy’s flowers.
Dislikes: Loud sudden noises. Getting petted too long.
Greatest Achievement: Catching a mouse!

Breed/appearance: Pug
Birthday or approx age if unknown: Adopted 6 yrs ago this Sept. Approx. 10/11yrs old.
Birthplace/how she came into you life: I was with a friend that was interested in adopting a dog. While we were waiting out walks this little Pug. She looked so sweet and I had been thinking of getting a friend for my other dog Gordie. She needed a home and I had the means to give her one. She was so grateful. She actually would dance from joy. I wish I knew her past. I wish I had pictures of her as a pup. I was told she was saved by a group of women walking through a forest preserve. She was being attacked by a coyote. She lost an eye and is pretty much blind. Even though she has special needs and is a handful, I’m happy I am her caregiver. I learn a lot from her.
Astro Sign: If I had to guess, I would say Pisces.
Likes: Oh besides being cuddled she loves, loves, loves bananas. Tramples anything in her path when she catches a whiff of banana.
Dislikes: This is an easy question. She hates and fights until her tongue turns blue to have her nails trimmed.
Greatest Achievement Thus Far/Special Skills: Winning Gordie’s affection. She was like a little sister that followed him endlessly. I know how much it irritated him, but now he seeks her out. He even likes cuddling with her.

Aliases/Nicknames/responds to: Gordie, Pumpkin
Breed/appearance: Cairn Terrier (one of the best breeds ever)
Birthday or approx age if unknown: April 1995
Birthplace/how he came into you life: Griffith, IN. I adopted him when he was 5yrs. His owner had cancer and could no longer care for him. He was on his way to the pound and I decided to try and find him a home. I had no intentions of keeping him. The universe had other plans. The universe was absolutely right. Gordie has brought me more joy and companionship than anyone else ever has. I hope he feels the same. He is very old now and it saddens me to see him as tired as he is. Thank you for Gordie.
Astro Sign: He has to be an Aries
Likes: He loves pasta and pancakes. Not necessarily together, but I know he wouldn’t refuse them together either. When he was young he loved chasing water from the garden hose. Neighbors would laugh at the sight. He also loved going for long walks and going to the hotdog stand with me. He loves fries. He loves the IN Dunes. He loved running along the lake and sniffing all the new scents he found there.
Dislikes: He really dislikes going to the vet.
Greatest Achievement Thus Far/Special Skills: He’s found the fountain of youth and drinks from it daily.
